Letter (SM)
This morning’s
Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report began:
“Nonfarm
payroll employment changed little in May (+69,000), and the unemployment rate was
essentially unchanged at 8.2 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
reported today.”
Those numbers
are a disappointment.

The chart
illustrates what we need: A quarter-million new jobs per month to restore full
employment. We’re not getting that.
